First Wind Donates to Milford July 4th Fireworks Display and Beaver County Courthouse Museum

(Milford, UT) - First Wind, an independent US -based wind energy company, announced Friday it has donated $5,600 to help support the annual Independence Day fireworks at Milford. The company has contributed another $2,000 to enhancements being made to Milford’s baseball/softball recreation complex. First Wind also donated $2,000 to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for their effort to restore the historic Beaver County Courthouse in Beaver, Utah. The museum contains historical artifacts from the 1840s through World War II. First Wind’s donation will be used to purchase a reception desk and display cases. Peter Sullivan, First Wind Director of Development said, “The city of Milford has been a great friend and a tremendous partner for the company, so we’re pleased to help the citizens of Milford celebrate our nation’s independence. We’re proud to be a part of Milford and Beaver County and we are glad we can help with these projects that are important to the community," he said. First Wind owns and operates the largest utility-scale operating wind farm in Utah, the 204 megawatt Milford Wind project northeast of Milford, Utah in Beaver County. The utility project provides renewable energy for 44,000 homes. First Wind also plans to build the 102 megawatt Milford II project. Boston based First Wind is an independent wind energy company exclusively focused on the development, financing, construction, ownership and operation of utility-scale wind projects in the United States.
